  • 2 slices garlic artisan bread thick, fresh-cut slices
  • 4-5 slices salami Calabrese-style or similar
  • 3 slices fresh mozzarella
  • 2-3 tablespoons roasted red peppers sliced
  • 1 handful romaine lettuce fresh, washed
  • 1-2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons garlic olive oil or regular olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to broil setting on high.
  2. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with garlic olive oil. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
  3. Broil for 4–5 minutes until crisp and golden to your preference. Remove from oven.
  4. Place mozzarella slices on one slice of bread. Return to oven on low broil until cheese is melted and bubbling. Remove again.
  5. Layer salami over the melted cheese. Add fresh romaine lettuce and roasted red peppers.
  6. Drizzle generously with balsamic glaze. Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, pressing gently to hold the sandwich together.
  8. Slice in half if desired and serve immediately.
