Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 3 cups Concord grapes
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons gluten free all purpose or sweet rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Crumb Topping

  • 1 cup gluten free all purpose flour or sweet rice flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

For the Crumb Topping

  • Combine the sugar and flour.
  • Cut the butter into the mixture with a pastry cutter.
  • Mix in the oil.
  • You can also do this in a food processor.
  • Set aside while you make the filling.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Into a saucepan, squeeze the pulp out of the grapes, saving the skins in a bowl.
  • Bring the pulp to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Press through a sieve to remove the seeds.
  • Combine the pulp and reserved skins.
  • Add the sugar, flour, and lemon juice to the grapes.
  • Mix until everything is incorporated with a whisk or wooden spoon.
  • Pour the filling into the pie crust.
  • Top with the crumb topping.
  • Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and continue to bake for 30 minutes.

Notes

  • Use a sieve to remove seeds for a smoother filling.
  • Let the pie cool before serving to set the filling.
